Jay Hachadorian: Owner Of Crossfit Gantry

“We have people who live in the same building who never knew it. They meet here and they’re like, ‘Oh, you’re on the 6th floor? I’m on the 8th.’ A lot of good friendships are made here. As a business is we benefit from all that growth but we’re also providing to the neighborhood that sort of meeting place like a restaurant or a bar.”
“The neighborhood is still very transitional. In the summer is the big move in, move out time. We used to have people who were here for a year and then gone but I’ve noticed people have started to make Long Island City a home because of everything that the neighborhood has to offer and the fact that you’re so close to the city, which is great for our business. We’re not having that constant turnover of members.”
